Memory Movie Events

The DFCC offers Memory Movie Field Trips to individuals with memory loss, their caregivers and area senior citizens.  

This is an opportunity for noted individuals to enjoy a classic movie in a safe and comfortable setting.  These events further create an activity in our community with the opportunity to meet with others for support, companionship and fun.  The Memory Movie Events allow participants to feel connected by stimulating positive memories and feelings of normalcy.  

Many individuals with memory loss and our senior citizens continue to enjoy seeing new films as well as relish the opportunity to view classics that can ignite memories from earlier times.  Classic movie viewing in groups is beneficial to memory care as it encourages a sense of belonging and improves focus, thus the potential of delaying further memory loss.  Reminiscing over a good classic movie can be a mood changer, creating the opportunity for conversation and providing the bridge between generations!
